The suspension had been imposed on March 18, 2025, when President Tinubu declared a state of emergency in Rivers State due to intense political instability that had paralyzed governance and threatened national stability. As Governor Fubara resumes office, the focus now shifts to governance and the implementation of policies aimed at improving the lives of the citizens. The administration is expected to prioritize initiatives that will enhance infrastructure, education, healthcare, and economic opportunities for the people of Rivers State.

It also highlights the resilience of the democratic institutions in navigating challenges and restoring order within the polity.
