BREAKING | ENUGU STATE HIGH COURT NULLIFIES SOUTHEAST ZONAL CONGRESS OF PDP

The Enugu State High Court has nullified the Southeast Zonal Congress of the Peoples Democratic Party.


This decision stems from Suit No: E/132/2025, where an interim injunction from the said court had previously allowed the congress, held on February 26, 2025, to proceed. This injunction was granted following a suit filed by Chief Ali Odefa and others.


During the resumed hearing, the plaintiffs' counsel, Amushi Nnamani-Nnwankwo, requested the withdrawal of the suit. This request was made in light of the Supreme Court's judgment in SC/18/2025, Senator Samuel Anyanwu vs. Aniagu Emmanuel & Others, delivered on March 21, 2025. The Enugu High Court subsequently struck out the suit.


Consequently, the court's decision to strike out Odefa's suit effectively nullifies the outcome of the Southeast Zonal Congress.
