The All Progressive Congress (APC) in Ekwulobia Ward, Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra State, witnessed a significant boost on April 25, 2024, as a substantial number of individuals defected from three different opposition parties – PDP, YPP, and LP – to join the ruling party at the ward level. This development signals the party's growing strength and readiness to compete in the upcoming 2025 governorship election in the state.

In a statement delivered during the event, the Ward Chairman, Comrade Ezekafor Ebube, expressed his satisfaction with the decision of the new members to join the APC, highlighting the importance of patience with President Bola Tinubu's administration and its Renewed Hope Agendas. He emphasized the belief that under President Tinubu's leadership, Nigeria will experience significant progress and economic growth.

Dr. Mrs. Chinenye Okonkwo, one of the decampees, expressed her joy at becoming a member of the APC, citing her confidence in the party's ability to bring about positive change and restore hope to Nigeria's economy. She commended the grassroots-level activities of the APC and acknowledged the leadership of Comrade Ebube Ezekafor in making the party visible and active in Ekwulobia Town.

The Aguata Local Government Chairman of the APC, present at the event, praised the leadership style of Comrade Ezekafor Ebube, emphasizing his inclusive approach and urging the new members to actively support the party's efforts to win the Anambra State Election in 2025.

Comrade Ezekafor Ebube, known for his roles as a grassroots mobilizer, APC Ward Chairman, Anambra State Secretary of all APC support groups (APUSGA), Deputy National Coordinator of JAGABAN NATIONAL GRASSROOT MOVEMENT (JNGM), and community developer, received commendation for his dedication and commitment to the party's cause. This influx of new members underscores the APC's growing influence and its prospects for success in future elections.
