The tragic demise of Herbert Wigwe, his wife Doreen, son Chizzy, and former Managing Director of Nigerian Exchange Group, Abimbola Ogunbanjo, in a helicopter crash in the US on February 9, has left a profound impact on the nation.
Tears flowed freely as friends, family, and dignitaries paid their last respects at the funeral ceremony. Among the notable personalities in attendance were Governors Sim Fubara (Rivers), Douye Diri (Bayelsa), and Babajide Sanwo-Olu (Lagos), alongside Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom state, Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo state, and the King of Okochiri Kingdom, Ateke Tom.
The presence of prominent figures such as Aliko Dangote, Chibuike Amaechi, Peter Obi, Bukola Saraki, Seriake Dickson, and Kayode Fayemi added gravitas to the occasion, underscoring the widespread impact of Herbert Wigwe's legacy.
